Ayelet Rose Gottlieb

Ayelet Rose Gottlieb is an international performer, an explorer of sound and seeker of musical adventures. Her unique blend of jazz, middle-eastern & Jewish music, combined with her innovative approach to composition and improvisation, has led to collaborations with some of the most imaginative musicians of our time. She is a founding member of John Zorn’s a-cappella group Mycale, who recently released their second album on Zorn’s "Book of Angels: Masada Book II” series. ECM recording artist Anat Fort and Ayelet have been performing and recording together for over ten years, as a duo and in larger ensemble settings. (Anat is a guest performer on the “Shiv’a” album). Since moving to Canada in 2012, Ayelet has been collaborating with some of Vancouver’s leading improvising musicians, including guitarist Aram Bajakian (Lou Reed, Diana Krall) and clarinettist Francois Houle.
