Mike McGinnis is an American saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer. Born in Sanford, McGinnis began playing saxophone at age ten, and studied saxophone, clarinet, flute, and composition at the University of Southern Maine School of Music with Bill Street.  He did graduate work Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY during the famed Cain-Alessi years (1995-1997) and has been studying traditional harmony and counterpoint with legendary NYC teacher Paul Caputo since 2004.
